Alternatives & Resources

Before making the decision to surrender your pet to a shelter, you may want to consider other rehoming options. You can rehome your pet without taking them a shelter!

  • Increase your pets adoptability by having them spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.
  • Tell people you know! If friends, families, and coworkers know you need help, the better chance you’ll have.
  • List your pet with reputable partners who specialize in connecting pets who need a good home with families looking to adopt:

If you decide to surrender:

Dogs

We accept surrenders of dogs and puppies on a case by case basis. We cannot accept aggressive, ill or feral dogs. We can only accept dogs from Tehama County and the cities within Tehama County.

There are times when we do not have the space to accept more animals. Dogs can be surrendered by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling 530-527-3439.

Cats

We will accept cat and kittens by appointment, however due to high demand there is currently a waiting list for cat & kitten intake. We cannot accept aggressive, ill or feral cats. We can only accept cats and kittens from Tehama County and the City of Red Bluff.

To be placed on the Cat Intake Waiting List, please fill out the request form below. You must submit one form per adult animal or one form per litter of kittens.

Please ensure your email address is correct as this will be our main form of contact. We will contact you to schedule an intake appointment when space becomes available.
