Function

The Assessor is responsible for determining the assessed value of all taxable Real and Personal Property located within Tehama County. Under California Constitution and the Revenue and Taxation Code, the Assessor:

  • Locates all taxable property within Tehama County.
  • Identifies the owner of all taxable property.
  • Establishes the assessed value of taxable property in accordance with the law.
  • Produces assessment rolls for secured and unsecured property.

Directions for using the property inquiry system:

Enter your Fee Parcel, Assessment Number, Street Address or Aircraft Tail Number* into the appropriate box: (It is not necessary to use dashes)

To search a range of fee parcels:

  1. For a book enter (i.e.024) (Books 001-009 will require entering the leading zeros)
  2. For a book and page enter (02412 or 024-12)
  3. For a book and page and block enter (024124 or 024-124).
  4. For an exact parcel number enter nine digits (i.e.: 024124013 or 024-124-013)

 

To search a range of assessments:

  • Business Property assessments begin with 800-
  • Aircraft assessments begin with 820-
  • Boat assessments begin with 830-
  • Improvements on the real estate of others start with 850-
  • Possessory Interest assessments begin with 860-
  • Manufactured/Mobile Home assessments begin with 910-

To search a street address:

  • Use a portion or all of the address to lookup a parcel

To search using an Aircraft Tail Number*:

  • Before entering the Aircraft’s Tail Number place the letter N. (i.e. NN3858S)  

Double click on the desired assessment number.

  1. A wide variety of information related to the property will display. A link for your view/value notice will appear at the top of the screen.
  2. To print your assessment information, click on “Print” located at the top of the data window.
  3. To find the physical characteristics click on the click here for more info link. This will lead you to another web site in order to access the information.
  4. The more complete number, the more specific the search will be.
  5. Parcels secured by real property begin with book numbers 001 and go up to book 103.
  6. To print your assessment information, click on “Print” located at the top of the data window.
